![]() Everything I hated about the demo (Weaksauce weapons, annoying voices, generic art-style) was the exact same in the final when I tried it and it made me VERY glad I didn't buy it. ANd I gotta agree with other poster's point that the demo was EXACTLY like the full game, though. Weapons are terrible to the point where it distracts from the game. The sad thing is.Troll-man's got a point. Nothing like stating that you believe a developer spent game-funding on prostitutes to let people know you're up for causing some forum-havoc! It's a troll fest in there! And the trolls don't care who they're going after! I'm gonna get some popcorn tonight while I read through that thread! Valve, how is it possible that Killing Floor, a measly advanced mod has so vastly superior weapon animations aka feel of shooting than L4D2, I mean, the difference in budget between these 2 games is humongous, did you spend your money on prostitutes instead of hiring animators? What happened?" On a sidenote: My god, the valve forums are so full of **** and kiddies, you have intellectual debates over here compared to that hellhole. Problem is just, with that attitude I won't be buying any new games whatsoever in the future because so many once great developers either get swallowed by EA or turn into an EA themselves. Not after what was going on with the first one for a year. Now if only that silly little 'early sequel that mostly consists of bundled up content that has been promised as a constant stream of updates' and 'holding out on even simple bugfixes and put them in the "sequel" to make it look even more superior' EA-move controversy wasn't there, I'd actually have no second thoughts about actually buying it.Īs it stands now however, I'll prefer to give my money to a more deserving company than the multi million dollar giant valve.Ī company that has a history of actually giving a damn about their games and fanbase until now which is why there's no way in hell that I'll buy a product at full price while I'm pretty sure that it'll not receive much support -if any at all- in the future. I don't have it though, that's just what I heard. You could make any of those above mentioned characters now and add them to a modern zombie game and they would fit just fine which is kinda crazy considering how different the game industry was then compared to now. There's also more weapons and enemies and pretty much everyone I've asked so far says that it actually feels like a sequel and is overall better than the first one in any way so the game itself seems pretty good. They don't feel like products of their time at all. They're just the right amount of stereotypical to make them fun and the perfect amount of human to make them relatable. What especially fascinates me about Bill, Francis, Zoey and Luis from L4D1 and Nick, Ellis, Rochelle and Coach from L4D2 is that their characters are timeless. It's another example of how a decent concept/gamepay loop can be elevated to greatness by sheer charm and likeablity alone The survivors in both Left 4 Dead games add so much style, personality, character to their games that it honestly makes the core gameplay loop far more enjoyable. But this is where the wonderful magic of great characterization and personality come in to spice things up and truly give this series the charm it is known for. A 4 player action zombie first person shooter where you fight endless hordes of undead until you reach an exit. ![]() Let's be honest here for a minute, if you break down the core gameplay loop/concept of the Left 4 Dead games it really isn't anything special.
